Today, Monday, June 21 marks the official release day of the public version of iOS 4 - Apple's newest OS for their mobile iDevices. Even though iPhone 4 isn't out until Thursday, Apple decided to introduce iOS 4 early, so they don't overload the server. That issue occurred during the iPhone OS 2 and iPhone 3G simultaneously launched.

The biggest new features in iOS include multitasking, custom background images on home screen, new Mail features such as a unified inbox, folders (to organize app screens), and enhancements to the Photos app.
iOS 4 will be compatible with iPhone 4 and 3GS, as well the 3rd generation iPod Touches. iPhone 3G and iPod Touch 2G will support iOS 4, without multitasking, though. 1st generation iPhones and iPod Touches will not support iOS 4 at all.
I went to update my second-gen iPod Touch, and iTunes crashed. Is anyone else having this problem? I have had the developers version of iOS 4 for some time now, and I am impressed by all the new features included.
To update to iOS 4, connect your iDevice via iTunes and click "Check For Update". Download, install, and enjoy iOS 4!
